Georgian University has recently accredited 300 credit integrated teacher education programs and this year, for the first time, announces admission to the Integrated Bachelor-Master’s Teacher Education Program. The program is led by Prof. Zurab Beria, who has great and serious experience in this field.
In this interview Mr. Zurab Beria tells us what distinguishes the 300-credit SANGU teacher training program, what skills a student will gain, what qualifications the graduate will be given and where they will be able to be employed after graduation.

- What are the advantages of SANGU 300-credit teacher training program?
- If you want to work in the field of education, there is no alternative to this program, because in 5 years the graduate directly becomes a Master of Education, at the same time a teacher of three subjects, one program is History-Geography-Citizenship, the other - Georgian Language and Literature (7-12) - English Language - Georgian as a second language teacher. At the same time, the graduate can continue his/her doctoral studies, both in the field of education and in the relevant field.
- Does teaching mean theoretical knowledge as well as practical component?
- Of course, 300 credits include both theoretical knowledge acquisition, as well as a practical and research component. School internships are also included.
- After completing the program, what qualifications are given to the graduates, where will they be able to get a job?
- The graduate is awarded the qualification of Master of Education with the right to teach three subjects. Graduates can be employed in public and private schools, various educational institutions, LEPLs of the Ministry of Education, resource centers, scientific institutions. They will also be able to pursue doctoral studies.
