An Internship at SANGU Library

Internship: in the field of library fund management
Purpose of the internship:
The aim of the internship is to give the 2nd or 3rd year students of the Georgian University the opportunity to get acquainted with and study the library activities, the principles of working with library documents and sorting. After passing the training and practical course, the student will be awarded with a certificate.
Number of interns: The internship is announced for two applicants.
Description of the activity, the intern will be assigned:

  • Development of syllabi for training courses;
  • Finding information about new resources;
  • Introduction of teaching and research literature to the university community;
  • Informing the University community about library resources;
  • Work on digitizing books;
  • Involvement in ongoing processes in the library.

Requirements, the student must meet the following criteria:

  • Bachelor’s student of 2nd or 3rd year.
  • Student of any direction;
  • High academic achievement;
  • Ability to communicate effectively;
  • Ability to work in a team;
  • Organization and punctuality;
  • Sense of responsibility;
  • High level of motivation;
  • Ability to sort information;
  • Ability to search the Internet;
  • Problem solving ability;
  • Ability to work independently;
  • Ability to write and speak in Georgian;
  • English language proficiency at B1-B2 level;
  • Knowledge of computer programs: MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

Competition format:
The competition will be held in two stages, in the first stage the candidates will be selected according to their CV and cover letters. In the second stage, the candidates will pass an interview and a simulation test.
Mode of work: Part time, 20 hours per week.
Remuneration: Non-reimbursable
Duration of internship: 3 months
Internship period: March 1 - May 31
Applicants must send a cover letter and CV by email: library@sangu.edu.ge no later than February 20.
Incomplete application will not be considered.
