On June 3, 2024, St. Andrew the First-Called Georgian University of the Patriarchate of Georgia (SANGU) warmly welcomed an esteemed delegation from Northern Kentucky University (NKU) as part of our joint international master's program in cyber security.

The NKU delegation included:

  • Dr. François Le Roy, Executive Director of the Global Engagement and International Affairs
  • Kevin Kirby - Dean of the College of Informatics at NKU
  • Marius Truta, Director, School of Computing and Analytics
  • Wei Hao, Head of the Master's Program in Cyber Security
  • Associate Professors: Maureen Doyle, Rasib Khan, and Tony Tsetse

The delegation was received by Archbishop Iakob of Bodbe, Plenipotentiary Representative of the Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia at SANGU, Rector Professor Irakli Brachuli, Chancellor Tamaz Vachadze, and the staff involved in the implementation of the program.
Archbishop Iakob extended a warm welcome from the Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia and expressed his gratitude to the guests for their visit. He highlighted the successful cooperation between SANGU and NKU as an excellent example of the strong bilateral relationship between Georgia and the USA.
The American professors praised the fruitful collaboration that began five years ago with the introduction of the cyber security master’s program. This success has paved the way for future joint programs in Business Informatics and other fields.
During their visit, for two weeks the second and third cohorts of Georgian students will engage in intensive lecture-seminars, workshops, and practical sessions led by American professors. This unique opportunity allows students to learn from leading experts about the latest developments in cyber security.
Since January 2023, up to 90 students have been enrolled in the master's program, fully funded by SANGU, to pursue one of the world's most in-demand and highly paid professions of the future-cyber security.
Graduates of the program will be awarded double academic degrees: Master of Cyber Security from NKU and Master of Information Technology Security from SANGU.
