On January 29 at 13:00, St. Andrew the First-Called Georgian University will host a public lecture by Professor David Ellery titled “2026: The Challenge for Strategy and Strategic Leadership”.

Professor David Ellery is an internationally recognized expert in the field of strategy and strategic leadership. He has 35 years of experience in foreign and public service and has worked at the highest level on the formulation and implementation of strategic policy, including in the areas of national security and defense.

He is a Professor and Honorary Fellow at the University of Durham, a Professor at the National Defence Academy in Vienna, Dean of the Regional Strategic Leadership Course for the Western Balkans, and a Senior Research Fellow at the University of Oxford’s “Changing Character of War” programme. He also collaborates with the Durham Institute of Research and Innovation, focusing on strategy and strategic leadership in the context of modern technological development and application.

During the lecture, Professor Ellery will address the global strategic environment of 2026 and key challenges related to strategic decision-making, leadership, the resilience of states and institutions, and the impact of technological change on strategic thinking.
