On February 20, St. Andrew the First-Called Georgian University concluded the four-stage mock trial series organized within the “Discover Your Profession - Law” project for 11th and 12th grade students interested in criminal law.
The project aimed to provide participants with practical experience in the field of law and to introduce them to the nature and specifics of the profession in an environment closely resembling real judicial proceedings.
The series included four meetings. On February 9 and 12, preparatory training sessions were held, during which students explored the main elements of criminal proceedings, the rights of the accused, procedural guarantees, the logic of case management and the key approaches to conducting investigations. On February 16, participants studied the factual circumstances and materials of a specific case in preparation for the final stage.
On February 20, the final mock trial was conducted in the designated courtroom, where students demonstrated the knowledge and skills they had acquired. They practiced witness examination procedures, drafting arrest reports, understanding investigative experiments and search and seizure procedures, enhancing their understanding of professional legal competencies.
Upon completion of the mock trials, participants received certificates confirming their active participation in the program.
The “Discover Your Profession” project aims to support senior school students in their career orientation process and to assist them in making informed career decisions.
