The Second Tbilisi International Cybersecurity Conference Was Held at SANGU

On May 27, 2026, the Second Tbilisi International Cybersecurity Conference was held at St. Andrew the First-Called Georgian University of the Patriarchate of Georgia (SANGU).

The event was organized in partnership with Northern Kentucky University, USA, and has become one of the important international platforms in Georgia in the fields of cybersecurity, technology, and international academic cooperation.

The conference was opened by Professor Archil Kanchaveli, Vice-Rector of SANGU, and Professor Kevin J. Kirby, Dean of the College of Informatics at Northern Kentucky University. Georgian and international experts, representatives of academia, public and private sector leaders, researchers, and students participated in the event.

The conference featured five thematic sessions dedicated to academia and cybersecurity, artificial intelligence and digital security, the role of the private sector in cybersecurity development, women’s engagement in cybersecurity, and research presentations held in an open microphone format.

During the sessions, participants discussed current challenges in cybersecurity, opportunities and risks related to the development of artificial intelligence, the importance of international cooperation, the advancement of cybersecurity education, and private sector experience. Special attention was given to strengthening academic and professional cooperation and creating new partnership opportunities.

The conference also marked another important stage in the long-standing successful cooperation between SANGU and Northern Kentucky University. Within this partnership, the universities jointly implement Georgian-American educational programs in cybersecurity and actively cooperate in research and international academic development.

The Tbilisi International Cybersecurity Conference is one of SANGU’s important international initiatives, promoting academic, professional, and international cooperation in the field of cybersecurity. The conference is an important part of the university’s internationalization policy and further strengthens SANGU’s international positioning in the region.

The event will continue to be held annually and will remain an important platform for international professional dialogue, research cooperation, and the exchange of experience.
