On February 21, within the framework of the “Discover Your Profession” project, St. Andrew the First-Called Georgian University hosted a meeting for high school students interested in the field of law. The event was led by Eva Gotsiridze, Doctor of Law, Judge of the Constitutional Court of Georgia, and Co-Head of SANGU’s Bachelor's Program in Law.
The students were welcomed by Dr. Irakli Brachuli, Rector of SANGU and Doctor of Philosophy, and Ketevan Khurtsilava, Coordinator of the Law Program. The Rector emphasized the university’s commitment to supporting youth education and career development, noting that such initiatives help students better understand their professional choices. He also highlighted the university’s role in advancing the field of law and supporting students.
The topic of the meeting was “The Profession of a Judge”, during which Ms. Gotsiridze shared her professional experience and spoke about the significance of the judge’s role. She discussed the career development path, challenges, and opportunities awaiting those in the legal field. She also explained the skills and approaches essential for a successful judicial career and described how a legal career begins and progresses.
At the end of the session, students had the opportunity to ask questions and receive detailed answers. The interactive format of the discussion allowed them to gain deeper insight into the legal profession and reflect on their own potential future in the field.
The “Discover Your Profession” project is a SANGU initiative aimed at introducing young people to the university’s undergraduate programs and various professional fields, while helping them with career orientation. The campaign is ongoing and will continue to feature exciting meetings with leading professionals from different sectors.
