St. Andrew the First-Called Georgian University of the Patriarchate of Georgia (SANGU) had the honor of welcoming His Excellency Gareth Ward, Ambassador of the United Kingdom to Georgia, for an official visit.
During his visit, Ambassador Ward addressed the graduates of the SANGU-Northern Kentucky University Dual Degree Master's Program in Cybersecurity. In his remarks, he emphasized the importance of being prepared for modern challenges, strengthening resilience, and using knowledge and innovation to create positive change for society and the wider world.
The Ambassador highlighted the importance of sharing knowledge, experience, and opportunities with others. He noted that true leadership is not only about personal success, but also about responsibility, solidarity, and supporting those around us. He congratulated the graduates and underscored the value of education and international cooperation in today's rapidly changing world.
As part of the visit, Ambassador Ward met with Archbishop Iakob of Bodbe, Plenipotentiary Representative of the Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia at SANGU, and Vice Rector Professor Archil Kanchaveli. During the meeting, the Ambassador learned more about the university's mission, international partnerships, and ongoing academic initiatives.
The parties also discussed future cooperation opportunities and prospects for further strengthening educational, research, and institutional ties between the United Kingdom and SANGU.
